    • Answer: You can simply apply by filling the form here.
  • Is there a registration fee for the Summer School on Affordable AI?

    • Answer: There is no registration fee for attenidng the Summer School on AI. Accommodation, Flight/Train tickets and Catering (Coffee and Lunch Breaks) will be covered and provided for the participants. Bus Transportation and Lunch boxes for the Excursion will be provided as well
  • Do I need prior programming experience in Python to attend this program?

    • Answer: While prior Python experience is not mandatory, it is highly recommended. A basic understanding of Python will be beneficial for participants as AI and machine learning often involve coding in Python.
  • What resources do you recommend for beginners to learn Python before the Summer School on Affordable AI?

  • Will there be any pre-work or Python tutorials provided before the Summer School begins?

    • Answer: Yes, we will provide pre-work materials and Python tutorials to help participants prepare for the program. These resources will be accessible prior to the start of the Summer School.
  • What can I expect from the Summer School program?

    • Answer: The program will include lectures, hands-on labs, practical exercises, and workshops led by skilled tutors. You will receive a comprehensive introduction to AI and machine learning, along with opportunities for collaboration and project implementation.
  • How will the program cater to participants with different backgrounds in health sciences, medicine, engineering, and computer sciences?

    • Answer: We carefully design the program to accommodate diverse backgrounds. Participants will be grouped in tandem with CS/IT backgrounds, and coaching will be provided to ensure everyone can follow along and engage effectively in the exercises.
  • Tell me more about the hackathon mentioned in the program.

    • Answer: The hackathon is an exciting part of the Summer School where participants will work in teams to implement AI/ML projects from start to finish. It’s an opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in a real-world scenario and showcase your skills.
  • What resources and support will be available during the hackathon to help us implement our projects successfully?

    • Answer: Mentors and skilled tutors and resources such as datasets, libraries, and tools will be provided to support your project development. Mentors will be available to guide and assist your team throughout the hackathon.
  • How many participants will be accommodated in Germany, and what is the diversity of the group?

    • Answer: In Germany, we will be hosting around 10 + 20 students from Germany and Arab nations, accordingly. We will host 12 members from the Arab-German Young Academy who are faculty members at their respecitive universities. This student group will be carefully selected to maintain diversity in terms of academic status, academic field/discipline, and gender balance.
